The importance of being creative

As a creative person (let’s be real here – we are all creative!)
You know deep down inside that a life without creativity is not really a life worth living, but the good news is that we are always creating.

However, we aren’t always being truly creative in the bigger picture of our lives.

It is very easy to be caught up in roles and positions in our lives that may not be totally aligned with what feels like being fully alive in your life, living an agenda or to-do list that isn’t inspiring. We all know this, we have all had experience of this – whether it’s from school days (not School Daze – Spike Lee’s movie) or leading a working life just to pay the mortgage or rent.

However, it’s important to lead a creative life, which you feel YOU ARE CREATING!
You have sovereignty of your own life, you have the capacity and ability to create awareness and choices to live wholeheartedly as any artist, musician or performer knows, when you’re creating you feel empowered and that life is yours to be living, and often naturally you feel like sharing and giving.

Creating the life you want to live

What gives your the spark of an inspired life? When are you truly alive? When do you feel like you are part of life’s creation? What are you doing when your heart feels like its pumping full of passion in a positive way, that helps you feel well, happy and truly alive?

Choosing your creative expression

Some people naturally know what their chosen form of creative expression is, and focus solely on that one expression, other people continually transform and morph through their creative life exploring many different art forms, dance, music, performance, poetry, videos, designing clothes, gardens, houses, other human beings etc

The important principle is about being creative in a way that feels aligned to your soul and true to your passion. We have to listen in to our beating heart’s passion, our imagination when it rips through our life in the middle of the night awakened by the bright light of the moon inspiring you to leave your boring day job to follow your passion to create your life the way you truly need to.

Follow the sparks of inspiration

Your imagination knows and recognises the sparks of inspiration, but does it listen?

When the inner voice of your imagination whispers (or shouts) do you listen? Do you let it lead you into a new way of being and behaving? What would it be like if you only did what you truly loved doing? What if your every day was full of heartful artful passion?

Ok, I hear what you may be thinking, we all have to do boring things like washing clothes, dishes, cleaning up after ourselves or the kids, pets or whatever) yeah, yeah I know, but generally if your life passion and purpose is big enough then these things are small things in your overall colourful creative tapestry of life and can also be done creatively.

Do you dance your way through life?

Do you paint playfully and purposefully?

Does your intuition guide you to make the right choices?

When will you listen to what your heart so wilfully needs?

Maybe you are passionately writing prose and poetry in a daily way, maybe it’s helping you carve your way through the day. Perhaps baking and cresting delicious food is your way of creating.
