There is change, there is decay

There is an idea that we can somehow develop our ‘self’ in a linear fashion
But it is simply not true
There is change
There is decay
There is death
We cannot hide from these facts
When we are younger we tend to think we are going to last forever
But its simply not true
We cannot last forever
Luckily, or there would be millions more creatures and humans on this planet than there are now
And the effect on the planet would be overwhelming
So in a way, its lucky we are recycled beings
Continually evolving and changing, decaying and dying

In the days of autumn when leaves change colour and fall through the air , blown around in the sky until they hit the ground,
pinned down by dampness or cold,
perhaps being whipped again into the air,
continually until they find their final resting point

Maybe, we are also like this
Moved around by the winds and breathe of life
Until the grounds of death
pull us down to the ground
And keep us down
Until we go underground
And become the ground
Or are blown around
ashes in the sky
Blowing in the wind, restlessly moving and becoming something else
